This guide explains how to create an Auto Contest and how the “Auto-create contests a specified number of days prior to the event” setting works together to automatically generate contests before events start.
Create an Auto Contest (Template) #
Auto Contests are templates that the system uses to automatically create contests for upcoming events.
Navigation path: Admin Dashboard → Fantasy Engine → Auto Contests → Click Create new.
Configure the template:
Sport: Select a specific sport or league.
Game Type: Draft player / Pick winner (depends on sport).
Entry Type: Single Entry or Multi-Entry.
Size: Maximum number of entries (e.g. 5000).
Entry Fee: Free or credit amount.
Prize Type: Winner take all / Top three / Multi payout.
Contest Name:
You can use variables such as:
#sport – Sport name
#start_date – Event start date
Example: #sport #start_date – 5000 players
Featured (optional)
Active: Enable to allow auto creation.
Click Submit.
Once saved and enabled, this template is ready to be used by the auto-create system.
Auto-Create Contests X Days Before Event #
This global setting defines when contests are automatically created.
Navigation path: Admin Dashboard → Site Settings → General Configuration → Fantasy Engine

How it works
The system scans upcoming events.
If an event matches an Active Auto Contest template, contests are created automatically X days before the event start time.
Example:
Event starts on Oct 10
Auto-create value = 6
Contest will be created on Oct 4
Run Now (Manual Trigger) #
If you don’t want to wait for the scheduled auto-creation:
Go to Auto Contests
Click Run now
This immediately creates contests for all eligible upcoming events using active templates.
Important Notes
Only Active Auto Contest templates are used.
If the setting is changed, it only affects future auto-created contests.
This system ensures contests are always available ahead of time without manual creation.
